White Friday social media plan: what to post before, during and after

White Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, and most stores in the Gulf run it as a week or more around that date. Plan it as three phases: a week of teasers that tell people what is coming, the sale itself with one clear post per day, and a short follow-up for late buyers and delivery updates. Decide the offers and the end date before the first teaser goes out.

What White Friday is

White Friday is the Gulf's name for Black Friday, the day after American Thanksgiving. The usual explanation for the name is that Friday is the holy day of the week in the region, and retailers did not want to call it black. In practice it is the biggest online sale of the year for many stores in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait, and it stretches across most of late November.

Before the sale: decide four things

  1. The offer. What is discounted, by how much, and whether it is the whole store or a selection.
  2. The dates. When it starts, and when it really ends. If you say it ends on Monday, it ends on Monday.
  3. The stock. Which products have enough stock to promote. Never push a product that will sell out on day one.
  4. Delivery. How long orders will take during the rush, said plainly.

What a good White Friday post has

  • One product or one category. Not a collage of twenty items.
  • The real price, before and after, with the currency.
  • The end date. Real, and kept.
  • One place to tap. The product page, not the home page.

What to avoid

  • Fake discounts. Raising a price in October to cut it in November. Customers check, and screenshots last.
  • A sale that never ends. Extending "one more day" three times teaches customers that your deadlines mean nothing.
  • Going silent on delivery. If orders are late, say so before customers ask.
  • Copying the big marketplaces. You cannot out-discount them. Out-explain them instead: why your product, why now.

After the sale

The week after White Friday is when the questions arrive: where is my order, how do I return this. Post delivery updates in stories, answer every message, and thank the people who bought. Then plan December, because the next occasion is never far away. See our Salla and Zid store guide for the dates the rest of the year turns on.

Questions people ask

When is White Friday 2026?
Friday 27 November 2026, the day after American Thanksgiving. Most stores in the Gulf run their sale over several days around it.
What is the difference between White Friday and Black Friday?
They are the same sale. White Friday is the name used in much of the Middle East, because Friday is the holy day of the week there.
When should a store start posting about White Friday?
About two weeks before, to build a list of people waiting for it, then a week of teasers before the sale starts.
